Registering a domain name is not a big deal.But deciding a correct domain name to bring out business out of it, is a tough job.
Well, after breaking my head on investigating the various factors that affect the traffic of your site, I conclude with the following points:
1. The domain name must have the important keyword of your site.Check out which keyword calls out more traffic(keyword popularity)
from google anaytic or any such other site This will help the search engines to optimize your site well.
2. Keep the domain name short, so that one can recollect it easily.
3. Its better to opt (dot) com variatiom or (dot) org, (dot) net. They are recognised easily in global markets
4. Well if you are in a doubt that your competitor may use the same domain name with different TLD’s then you can purchase diffrent TLD’s and forward them to your main domain.
5.Suppose you have your company in India or you have country specific visitors, you can go for co.in or .in domain name.
6. The name should also be product specified domain name, so when people search for your product it will be easy to find you. e.g if you have travel company then you can look for names like travelaround.com or something like this. Make sure the domain name is avilable first from www.netspaceindia.com.
